Frame: Accountability / Data journalism

The real story here is not the press release claim. The real story is one of these, depending on what reporting reveals:

• If the data holds up: "Florida has 711,576 children in poverty, concentrated in 15% of zip codes — and three counties are getting worse, not better" (geographic/accountability story)
• If the data doesn't hold up: "A business lobby is claiming credit for reducing child poverty — their own numbers tell a murkier story" (accountability/media criticism story)
• The rural angle: "Nearly 1 in 4 children in rural Florida lives in poverty — more than four times the statewide rate" (human interest + accountability)
• The wrong-direction counties: "While Florida touts progress on child poverty, three counties are moving the opposite direction" (accountability, data journalism)

Audience: Parents, educators, social service providers, taxpayers, voters — especially in rural counties and in Sumter, Hardee, and Jefferson counties where numbers are moving in the wrong direction.
